Interfaith Devotional, Rea’s Home, May 26, 2012

On May 26, 2012, Bahá’ís of Statesboro and their friends gathered at Dan and Maria Fatima’s home for the monthly Interfaith Devotional. Please click below for a description and photos of the event.

Seventeen people of diverse nationalities (Bangladesh, Brazil, China, India, Peru, & USA) shared prayers and reflective readings on unity, peace, and healing from the holy scriptures of several world religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Bahá’í Faith. Bahá’u’lláh, prophet founder of the Bahá’í Faith, encourages us to “consort with the followers of all religions in a spirit of friendliness and fellowship” and to understand “Truth is one in all religions.” Special thanks to those who shared their artistic talents during the social part of the meeting: Joe and Glory Goldstein for playing guitar & singing unity songs; Rosemarie Stallworth-Clark for playing the autoharp & singing peace songs; Vince Shen for singing the Chinese Jasmine song; Mike Czech for playing guitar & singing popular 80s songs; Efadul Huq for reading Rumi & Walt Whitman poems, and Glory Goldstein for dancing. This spiritual meeting was a nourishing unity feast of inspiring prayers & reflective readings, tasty food & drinks, beautiful songs, music, poetry, & dance, and warm camaraderie & laughter. People of all religions and cultures are welcome to these devotional celebrations.
