On August 29, 2014, Bahá’ís of Statesboro and their friends gathered at Joe and Ana Goldstein’s home for a Bahá’í Devotional followed by dessert. Please click below for a description and photos of the event.
Nineteen people of diverse nationalities (China, Japan, Peru, Trinidad, Mexico, and USA) read and reflected on Bahá’í writings about true friendship and service to humanity. According to Bahá’u’lláh, prophet-founder of the Bahá’í Faith, a true friend and servant to humanity should, “Be generous in prosperity, and thankful in adversity. Be worthy of the trust of thy neighbor, and look upon him with a bright and friendly face. Be a treasure to the poor, an admonisher to the rich, an answerer of the cry of the needy, a preserver of the sanctity of thy pledge.” Thanks to Daronte Starks for taking the photos. People of all religions and cultures are welcome at these devotional meetings.
