On October 29, 2011, Bahá’ís of Statesboro and friends gathered at Dan and Maria Fatima’s home for the monthly Interfaith Devotion. Please click below for a description and photos of the event.
We shared prayers and reflective readings on unity, peace, and healing from the holy scriptures of several world religions. According to Bahá’u’lláh, prophet founder of the Bahá’í Faith, we need to “consort with the followers of all religions in a spirit of friendliness and fellowship” and understand “Truth is one in all religions.” Special thanks to those who shared their artistic talents during the social part of the meeting: Rosemarie Stallworthworth-Clark for singing and playing auto-harp; Joe Goldstein for singing and playing guitar; Tao Yang, Rui Zhang, and Lily Li for singing Chinese and USA songs and playing guitar; Xavier Best for rapping social justice raps; and Efad Huq for reciting Walt Whitman poetry. At this meeting, we enjoyed a cultural and artistic expression of “unity in diversity,” which will not be soon forgotten.
