On March 1, 2009, Dr. Chang'aa Mweti, an African Storyteller presented the "The Power of Storytelling in Life" at the Bahá'í Unity Center in Savannah. Dr. Mweti is an inspiring storyteller originally from Kenya and currently an assistant professor of education at the University of Minnesota in Duluth, Minnesota. Using dramatic skits and African music, sitting stool, walking stick, and native clothes, he told both his own humorous story, "Coming to American," about cultural differences and a traditional African story, "A Father's Gift to His Children," about the power of unity. The Bahá'í communities of Savannah and Statesboro sponsored this public Ayyam-i-Ha event, which attracted about 45 people from Savannah and Statesboro, Georgia and Buford, South Carolina. Ayyam-i-Ha is a four-day period of giving and hospitality that precedes the Bahá'í annual fast.
